The latest of Apple’s operating system in Mac computers, OS X Yosemite was available for download last Oct 17 in the Mac App Store. Aside from its new appearance, the new OS is already integrated with iOS 8.
Where in the past, beta versions of this OS were limited to developers, Yosemite was released to users as part of last July’s public preview. Almost a million of Mac users are already using the new operating system.
With Yosemite offered to a broader user section, Apple was given the opportunity to hear feedback of users regarding its new features as well as add-ons and omissions. Moreover, third party developers of apps succeeded in building support of Yosemite for their apps.
Apart from how new it looks and feels, the biggest feature Yosemite offers is its iOS 8 and iOs 8.1 integration. Users are now able to make inbound or outbound calls from a Mac branded PC or laptop so long as it’s equipped with the new OS. Likewise, they can share files with AirDrop and pass tasks off via the new Handoff feature.
With iOs 8.1 released on the 20th of October, Yosemite now comes with the capability to make inbound and outbound messages, whether SMS or MMS, that come from the Messages app.
