Are you a Zynga user? If you are not aware what Zynga is, it is an interactive gaming company. Their games are featured in Facebook and other platforms including their own website.
Last September 12, 2019, they have announced that they have recently discovered that certain player account information may have been illegally accessed by hackers. As of this writing, the scope of the attack has not been disclosed. Some media outlets have reported that the attackers may have breached more than 200 million players of Zynga games, which includes Draw Something and Words with Friends on both Android and iOS platforms.
If you have installed and signed up to play Words with Friends before September 3, 2019 this year, you might have been affected by this. It might be possible that the data that was hacked includes the following information:
o Name
o Email addresses
o Login IDs
o Hashed and salted passwords
o Phone numbers, where provided
o Password reset tokens, if one had ever been requested
o Facebook IDs, if connected to the social media platform
o Zynga account IDs
Zynga is still actively investigating the breach and has contacted appropriate law enforcement agencies. There were press releases which states the details and the steps the company has undergone to protect their users accounts from invalid logins.
Almost nothing is safe nowadays, if it connects to a computer and a server, it will be a target for attacks.
